WHY I’M RUNNING
San Antonio’s Far West and Southside deserve better
ISSUES
Fighting for change means more than words. It means action.
I will fight for:
Education: Building Strong Public Schools for the Future
Public schools are the glue that holds together and renews a vibrant community. We should have schools able to serve every child, including those with disabilities, without pitting them against seniors and disabled veterans through rising property taxes.Jobs: Fair Wages for Hardworking Individuals and Families
No one working full-time should struggle to afford rent or put food on the table. I’ll fight for living wages and expand opportunities for working Texans to enter into skilled trades and professions.Economy: Empower Small Businesses to Compete and Thrive
Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. I’ll push for wage subsidies and other resources to help them compete against large national and global corporations.Roads, Water, and Utilities: Building for the Future
Our roads, public transit, and flood prevention infrastructure have not kept pace with our growing community. I’ll work with local and federal officials to get these projects moving and on time.Access to Healthcare: Make Healthy Living an Option for All
The obstacles to obtaining the preventative and reproductive healthcare that our communities need are dragging our economy and causing needless tragedy in our community. To give Texans access to the healthcare that they need regardless of zip code, I will work to take the choice of expanding Texas's participation in Medicaid and give it to the voters. I will also fight to increase state funding for cost-effective preventative care in underserved urban, exurban, and rural communities.Military Veterans: Securing Dignity for Veterans
Too many veterans return home only to face homelessness and mental health struggles alone because of the burdens they carry from their time in service. I’ll fight to ensure they receive the resources and respect they have earned. And I will work to expand important federal-state and public-private partnerships to connect veterans with opportunities for service and success after they take off the uniform.
